A Field in England. (2013)

England : 1648 AD. A small group of deserters flee from a raging battle through an overgrown field. They are captured by two men: O'Neil and Cutler. O'Neil, an alchemist, forces the group to aid him in his search to find a hidden treasure that he believes is buried in the field. Crossing a vast mushroom circle, which provides their first meal, the group quickly descend into a chaos of arguments, fighting and paranoia, and, as it becomes clear that the treasure might be something other than gold, they slowly become victim to the terrifying energies trapped inside the field.

Emily Grey is a very important medium estimated in Spiritism. Due to some incompetent people an evening at Emily home, the seance takes a wrong turn arousing the ire of the woman. During the night Emily will notice not alone: an evil entity awaits in the dark, just waiting to reveal itself. When done, famous medum will not be more of the living.

Mounted by the Gods. (2001)

With intentions to be like a Jean Rouch film but results closer to "Mondo Cane," "Voodoo Mounted by the Gods" is an odd docu by lauded Swiss photojournalist Alberto Venzago and exec producer Wim Wenders that visualizes Venzago's trips since 1988 to the West African nation of Benin, voodoo's birthplace. Showing an undoubted interest in the ancient animist religion, docu at times also strangely turns that faith into spectacle for cinema tourists. With a 2001 copyright on credits and few international unspoolings before AFI Los Angeles fest, over-produced travelogue will hightail it to video in no time.

Witchcraft. Angeli bianchi... angeli neri. (1970)

Maniacal necrophilia is how the opening narration describes the strange Satanic activities carried out late one moonlit night at Highgate Cemetery, London, in the late 1960s. As police assess the damage to the graves and headstones, and collect the scattered remains of the dead, the only eyewitness to the crime refuses to speak to the press. But our probing narrator will not let him be, asking if he will ever be able to outlive “the memory of those shadows in the night?”
